Bio-based economy and climate change

There is a clear link between bio-based economy and sustainability as well as green economy. This is not surprising as the use of biomass induces a sustainable use of carbon i.e. carbon absorbed by plants is used to produce bio-based products, which is then released at the end of the products life cycle without increasing the atmospheric CO2 concentration.
